James Lukes, OT
Jim Lukes is an Occupational Therapist in the NMOA Rio Rancho facility. He has specialized in Orthopaedic hand, arm and shoulder therapy in the Albuquerque area since 1988.
Jim became interested in hand therapy while still in high school, when he began working for the Green Bay Packers professional football team. He was surprised to learn that players would frequently suffer a hand injury and then return to the training room with no significant attention paid to regaining their hand function. Wanting to make a difference in the lives of people affected by a hand injury, he began to explore options for becoming a therapist specializing in Hand Therapy in order to help patients recover from such injuries and resume an active life.
Jim was born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin. In his spare time, he enjoys boating, wake boarding, snow skiing, mountain biking, bird watching and hiking.
