Zimmer Biomet mymobility® with Apple Watch Clinical Study
If you are considering a hip or knee replacement surgery you may be eligible for the Zimmer Biomet mymobility® Clinical Study. This study is one of the largest evidence-gathering clinical studies in orthopedic history. The mobile application works with Apple Watch® to provide you with information and reminders and keeps you connected to your surgeon and care team throughout your surgical journey. As a part of this study, you will have the opportunity to be a more active participant in your clinical care and advance research on joint replacement surgery and recovery.
This national study is underway, and has the potential to enroll as many as 10,500 hip and knee replacement patients at 30 sites across the US. Through the use of a smartphone and Apple Watch, the mymobility app provides instruction and opportunities for enhanced engagement between the patient and healthcare provider.
This mobile application is designed to work with Apple Watch to remind patients to view their smartphone application to read pre-planned and timed educational information, perform tasks, and complete assigned exercises. Understanding their condition and care plan gives patients the ability to actively participate in optimizing their surgical outcome. Patients who qualify and elect to participate in this study will be provided an Apple Watch (if they do not already have access to one) to use throughout their participation in the study.
